Recently, IPRdaily, an intellectual property industry media, and incoPat Innovation Index Research Centre jointly released the “Global Smart Home Invention Patent Ranking (TOP20) from January to September 2020”, which covered Chinese and foreign Internet technology companies, network operators, and established home appliance manufacturers, including 7 Chinese companies. FOTILE ranked the 20th in the world with 151 patents for smart home inventions, the one and only in kitchen appliance manufacturers.

If you have ever visited FOTILE, you must have been impressed by the glittering array of patents displayed on the “Patent Wall”.
According to the data released by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, FOTILE ranked among the top three in both the “Top 10 Zhejiang Enterprises in Patent Applications in 2019” and “Top 10 Enterprises in Patent Authorization”. Public information indicates that as of October 2020, FOTILE had nearly 3,900 authorized patents, including over 550 invention patents. The higher and higher patent “barriers” are supported the hardcore technology strength of FOTILE.
According to some media statistics, Chinese home appliance enterprises invest about 3.42% of revenue in R&D on average; whereas public information indicates that FOTILE insists on investing no less than 5% of its revenue in R&D every year since its establishment, without the ceiling for investment in R&D of major projects, in which 30% is spent on cutting-edge technologies such as material and smart technology. Based on FOTILE’s revenue of over RMB 10 billion in 2019, both the investment ratio and actual amount are at the highest level in the kitchen appliances industry where the general R&D investment is 3%-4%.
